   I have an idea for a custom photo gallery to add to a website I am working on, but I'm not sure how to go about it nor have I found anything that can help me.

   I am using triangular shapes to display each photo in a specific layout and would like to be able to click the triangular picture to bring up the original photo.

   I'm fairly skilled in coding, so if I can get some guidance hopefully I'll be able to figure it out.

   you can query the wp_attachments, display thumbnails and link them to orignal src then use some lightbox to display the Orignal Photo.

   I haven't studied theme development very much yet, so I am unsure what wp_attachments is or what you mean by lightbox.
