[resolved] Custom Permalinks Result in 404's (2 posts)

    Hi everybody,

    I think something is wrong with my permalinks. My permalink structures used to be like this: /%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/ which were working fine. Now I get 404's whenever my permalinks follow that rule. If I put it back to the default, date and named based, or numeric structure, the links work fine.

    I read some support topics for this problem and I think it has something to do with my .htaccess file. Here's how it looks like right now:

    RedirectMatch temp ^/$ http://bllindgrls.officiallydumb.com/blog

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    </IfModule>
    # END WordPress

    Options +FollowSymLinks

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://bllindgrls.officiallydumb.com/.*$ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://bllindgrls.officiallydumb.com$ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.bllindgrls.officiallydumb.com/.*$ [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.bllindgrls.officiallydumb.com$ [NC]
    RewriteRule .*\.(jpg|jpeg|gif|png|bmp)$ - [F,NC]

    There's nothing in between my mod-rewrite tags and I don't know why. I'd appreciate help from anyone. Thanks in advance!

    Hi again. I found a solution to my problem at:
    http://perishablepress.com/press/2006/06/14/the-htaccess-rules-for-all-wordpress-permalinks/

    I just copied and pasted the bit of code over to my .htaccess file and things worked out. Hope this works for other folks who have the same problem as well.
