    Hi Everybody

I wonder if you could help.

When I used custom permalinks, it creates nice pretty urls for my pages. But my posts end up with my url name being repeated twice in their url.

Can you suggest a way that I can get pretty urls for my pages and correct urls for my posts.

    Thanks

    Tim

    what structure are you using?

What do you mean by structure?

I have set my static page as a home page.

This is my web site http://www.positive-thinking.org.uk

I have set permalink as custom and inserted / in relevant field.

If I create a page, it creates a nice url, with the title for the page and the permalink gives me the option to edit if I want.

If I create a post page, all I see is the url, it doesn't add the post title to the end of the url, like it does with the page and there is nothing for me to edit. Which means that all post pages get created as http://www.positive-thinking.org.uk.

I must have been confused when I said that it added http://www.positive-thinking.org.uk to the url, because it doesn't do that.

    Cheers

    Tim

    Hi Samboll

I realise now that I have to put /%category%/%postmark% or something like that to get it to work. It now works great.

My head was spinning yesterday trying to sort it out and I can now see the error of my ways.

I am getting pretty impressed with word press. I will go and buy the book word press for dummies, it may make my life easier.

    Thanks

    Tim
