   Wondering if you could help. We had a designer create our website and they used a self hosted wordpress custom theme for us.

   We ran into an issue where we need more static pages with custom sidebars.

   I went into the php and copied an existing page and the sidebar templates. I updated the names and the parts in the coding for the names.

   My issue is - once uploaded on our server/host, I can get the page to appear in our WordPress Dashboard but not the assigned sidebars.

   Could you possibly point me in a right direction?

   You probably need to create new custom page template and new sidebars. Your best option is to contact the person who created the theme for you.
