    Hello,
I've searched the forums, and I haven't exactly found what I was looking for... Here's what I'm trying to do:

On the homepage, have a table like this
    +---------+--------+
    | | |
    +---------+--------+
    | | |
    +---------+--------+

The top left showing only the latest post, the top right showing the latest post from a "featured" category, and the bottom left showing a list of the most recent posts, and the bottom right showing the most recent from the 'news' category.

If someone can help me with this that would be great.
(I wasn't sure whether to post the code for what I had so far.... so if someone wants to see it, then I'll post it)

    Thanks again,
    Takumi

No, please, don't. I mean don't post code here. Always use a pastebin service. If you don't know what it is - google for it.

For what you want you need multiple (modified) Loops.
    See the Codex: http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop
It might also be worth to take a look at this thread for a starting point:

    Thanks,
I have it in a pastebin here: http://www.mypastebin.com/?code=1528859248

I did try looking at the Codex's The_Loop page, and tried different things, but it didn't seem to work.
My other attempt to make it work is here: http://www.mypastebin.com/?code=100164505
Both times I got it wrong somehow...

Thanks for the link to that other topic, it was a bit helpful, but I'm not really a PHP guy so I don't understand it all.

    Thanks,
    Takumi

In the code you posted you have only one (1) Loop.
For what you want you need multiple loops with a lot of customization... I guess there should be four Loops.

    Moshu,
So I just need to start and end a new loop for each area and then within those add the tags to dispay the post info or the category info... right?

Thanks for your help so far,
    Takumi
