Ok gang. Banging on the Vigilance header... again. Sorry. I've read the threads and still can't find what I need. I will post a step by step how-to on this topic for everyone if I get a fix. So please help if you can?

I am using the Vigilance theme. I have downloaded and installed its Child Theme. I want to change the header text at the very top of the site, and replace with a full page-width custom header graphic. I do not need a graphic under the top nav (standard) - only above it, where the default text header currently resides.

Child theme instructions say to upload the Child theme in it's own folder: done. Then edit and replace the Child's style.css file rather than the Master.css file on the original theme to avoid breaks and override the original: done.

I've successfully tinkered with the Child style.css file, including changing the look of the very top header text, line width's etc. I can't, however, find the code that controls and/or gets rid of it for a complete replacement of the header - where my grapic should go (and clickable to my URL). Can I get some help? I'll give back - I promise!

a background-image here would apply to the entire header (behind site title, description, nav)

One here would go just behind the main title, above the nav

But, to make the entire image clickable, that won't work

you'd want to edit in header.php...and add it in there where your title div is

Are you wanting a clickable image instead of the current text? Or an image and the text?

Also, are you using the firebug addon for firefox? Itll allow you to click on any item on your page to see what css element applies, so you can easily adjust your css

Thanks Rev - wanting a clickable header image instead of the current text. Been searching for hours so your thoughts are very welcome.

I've been using Safari, but could use firefox and get the add-on. Sounds like I could use it.

So with the clickable image, do I still need edit the Child css, or go into the header.php file and edit that...?Sorry but I'm all jumbled up from thinking this through... sigh.

i always put my images in a folder "image" si for me it would be

hope it helps,
you can put your image in a div as well to css better so
