Custom fields not displaying – More Fields Plugin

I’ve invested so much time in the plugin that it is too late to switch I think. At one point we got the one custom field working – but not anymore.
We’ve tried every setting in the plugin admin. We switched the theme to default – stil no custom fields. We are using Fusion theme and the single.php page for posts.
This is a typical page – http://newyoumag.com/?cat=28 – click on a post – these are typical of the posts that should show 3 more fields to display the writer and photographer name and a last summary.

Is there some code from More fields plugin that goes into single.php? I did not see this mentioned on their site.
Also I tried adding a small image into one custom field but it always defaults to the main field. Why is that?
