I am attempting to create a new Custom Field while writing a post. I simply click the “Add Custom Field” button, the two text fields come up, I type my field name into the first field (lead_image); hit “Update”, and then the error comes up.

    “An unidentified error has occurred.”

Anyone know what is going on? I have WP installed on an a sub-domain on the same site, with the same theme running, and the custom field works fine.

Nevermind, I’m sorry, I figured it out. The sequence to add a custom field requires you to input the field name in to the “key” field first. Ok!

This has been happening to me in WP 2.7 and now in 2.7.1

The error appears and it doesn’t add a new custom field for me to write the key

analutetia – so you’ve input the field name in the key field first and you are getting the error?

Please note I’ve deleted the other threads you hijacked.

@ analutetia – You’ll get that error if you attempt to save with a blank “value” field. To save the value field as blank just enter some arbitrary text, save, erase it, and save again.
