Custom fields is some I’m looking at for a future version. You can do it yourself now via an AddOn. http://postieplugin.com/extending/

    Hi Wayne,

I’m looking forward to this feature in a future version. Until it is implemented would it be possible for you to suggest a basic example of how we can tell postie to create a custom field based on something within the body of the email. Presumably this would work in a similar way to the ‘Tags: x,y,z’ system you use in Postie?

For example, people email me via a form that asks for Name and Telephone number, and this arrives in my inbox formatted like so:

    <p class="name"><strong>Name:</strong> <span class="thename">01234 567890</span></p>

    <p class="phone"><strong>Phone:</strong> <span class="thephonenumber">01234 567890</span></p>

I have looked at the code used to add post tags in the hopes I could tweak it for custom fields but it is a bit too advanced for my current coding skills unfortunately.

Many thanks for any help you can give (and no problem if you’re too busy to give special attention to this until it is actually implemented in the plugin, totally understandable)

    Jo
