• Hi,

I’m probably being really dumb about this, but …

What about the new Custom CSS and Sandbox Theme? Is this stuff available for use on hosted blogs, or am I missing something?

  • I have same questions. Lots of mentions and references in numerous places, but … vaporware … “Where’s the beef?”

Thanks, HandySolo … but where does one get the “Custom CSS” upgrade?

That would be over at WordPress.COM (the ‘free’ wordpress hosting solution). We’re the .org folks here.

    Try http://wordpress.COM/forums/ for support.

    Dear HandySolo,

You essentially refocused my question by saying, “We’re the .org folks here.” Right! So how do those of us who have our WordPress blogs hosted by someone other than WordPress get the Custom CSS upgrade?

    Thanks,

    I’m not certain I understand.

If you own your own hosting, and have installed a copy of WordPress from wordpress.org, then you can certainly install your own themes. I provided a link to the one in question earlier in this thread. (does your blog url not have wordpress.com in it? Use that link, install yourself a theme).

If you’ve availed yourself of the free hosting over at wordpress.COM, then I can’t answer your question. I provided a link to their forums earlier in this thread as well. (does your blog url have “wordpress.com” in it? go to their forums).

I figure ONE of those two links must be the right answer.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have installed WordPress on my blog, hosted by Dreamhost. I can install my own themes. So is the “custom css” thing for WordPress-hosted blogs simply irrelevant?

Ah. Maybe now I follow. 🙂

Yes, irrelevant for you and I. We need not pay anyone to be allowed to edit our CSS.

Thanks! I was coming to that conclusion on my own, but Very Slowly. However, it looks to me as if the Sandbox theme still has its usefulness for those of us who find it difficult to work with the CSS of fully formed themes.

    That’s true, dthomasmaddox.

    It’s a very interesting theme.
