Custom Automated Emails URL

I can’t seem to make links work in my “Custom Automated Emails” section
I’m using the following code
<a href="http://video.tampablackheritage.org">Video Upload Site</a>

but when I save/update, It auto changes to

<a href=\"http://video.tampablackheritage.org\">Video Upload Site</a>
back slashes are being added next to the quotes
The link shows up in the email but you can not click it.
