Custom "Add User" Field (4 posts)

    Hi,

I'm kind of lost here and I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I'm looking to set something up in the administration panel so that when an "Admin" user logs in and registers a new user by way of the "Add New" option, they have an extra field where they can enter some data that I can access later (by way of either saving it to the database in a custom table or any other way).

I don't want this option to show up though if someone new is registering on the site.

I can use the edit_user_profile or show_user_profile commands to get the field to show up when in the "Edit Profile" page, but I'm hoping to have it all in 1 place... can anyone help me out?

    Thanks,

    --d

    Hi MichaelH,

    Thanks for the response!

Unfortunately, I've looked at these options and they do not solve my exact problem. I want only the administrators to be able to set this field when they create a new user. Normal user's, when creating their account, should not see this extra field.

    Thanks,

I too had looked at all those above solutions as well and was needing the same functionality that you where looking for. Everything I have come across has to be done either if the user is allowed to create an account or if the user goes to their account and edits/add the information themselves.

I want this all to be in once place and only editable by the admin. Did you ever figure out how to do it?

    Thanks
