I have a website that is going to use the Cube Points system for Buddypress (similar to here on WPMU Dev). In the future the site will offer products via WooCommerce. In the mean time I would like to use WooCommerce to process payments for users buying points. I am considering buying "WooCommerce for Buddypress" plugin (http://themekraft.com/shop/woocommerce-for-buddypress/) to merge my Buddypress users with my WooCommerce users. However I don't want to pay for before I understand what will be needed to join the points system.

Does anyone have any experience with this concept?

Yeah, check out WooCube. With that plugin, users can buy products through woocommerce using cubepoints.

If you want cubepoints to be a true points and rewards system, try WooCube Pro. With the Pro version of the plugin, users can buy the points through woocommerce. You can set features like, conversion rates, maximum deductions, and exclude products from the points program altogether. Also, users can use the points during checkout to reduce the price of products, allowing them to complete payment of the remaining funds using a normal cash based gateway. Yes, the pro version has a ton of added features.

In short, WooCube links woocommerce to cubepoints. That may be a better route than trying to link woocommerce to buddypress.
