• Questions surrounding CSS, and getting templates to behave properly form a huge amount of questions posted to the forums.
Answering these questions can also take huge amounts of time.
Many layouts used have come from the Style Competition page over at Alex King’s site, and I’m sure that help from these forums must have aided in correcting any issues, so, with that in mind, does anyone fancy donating back their fixed and well-behaved CSS so that the good work can be spread ?
I’m not saying to give your images if you use them, just a stylesheet which can be hosted somewhere and easily downloaded by someone new to WordPress. My thoughts right now are that blocks of colour could be used in place of an image.
Exotic designs and fantastic use of positioning doesn’t matter – I was just thinking that if we had a bunch of well coded templates, along with maybe better guides as to how to insert images / colours, then we achieve two things:
1 – Users get stylesheets that don’t spring nasty surprises on them
2 – Users can concentrate more on the design from a working startpoint.
    That make any sense ?
If it does, and your CSS does work, you can mail it to me and I’ll set something up once I’ve got a few.
    Thanks 🙂

  • This is spam.

Well then presumably the url is wrong.

ah yes you are quite right I fixed it in the previous post, but here it is again… My Blog

@butterstuff – thank you for the offer, but it was’t quite what I wanted.
For example, many people use a stylesheet called ‘ Human Condition’ from Alex’s site. It’s been fixed here many many times, yet every time someone wants to use it, we have to go through the fixing process again.
It would be nice to have some of those CSS’s to offer that were fixed.

    Hey Podz,
Mine is fixed 😉 thing is that in order to fix it you had to make changes to the index file as well. What do you want us to do in this case? Post both?

    Kind regards,

Thank you gravity for that. IMHO you are spot on. The default index is unsuitable for many layouts that designers want. I could not agree with you more. You are one of the very few people who has ever stated the very obvious here but it needs to be said. Over and Over.
