CSS problem - trying to copy template design but fails to work (7 posts)

I've installed WordPress 2.71 on my localhost Apache server, and it works well as a blog!

However, I'm trying to copy this site's layout and design, replacing its logos and background colours with my own:
    CanadianDriver

I cannot seem to get it to look right, it always gets messed up.

Is anyone able to help me get the theme to work properly so I can use WordPress to create a website?

Have you considered a theme that already exists? Try the theme directory - something simple.

I will try that - it's just getting WordPress to work as a website that's tricky with a left-to-right theme as in the above example.

My site is on localhost, and I've currently got the default theme installed.

I'm also trying to work out how to get categories/menus to appear like
    http://www.canadiandriver.com/newcars and http://www.canadiandriver.com/buyers-guide/2009/chevrolet/aveo.php

(would I have to create subdirectories for this!)

Basically, I'm trying to use WordPress to create a site, like they've done, I can use it as a blog successfully, but a site is a bit trickier.

Well, tried again, will upload the theme to my webhost so you can see it and view source code.
