  • Hi tsheridan, sorry to hear that – where did your custom CSS live (did you follow the guidelines in our Themer’s Guide)? Can you also confirm which version you updated from?

It actually looks like the calendar output is being stripped of its tags, which can sometimes happen if it is treated as an excerpt. Does switching the Default Events Template via the Events → Settings → Display admin screen help here?

The custom CSS lives within the main theme, so the upgrade should not have overwritten anything.
I’m not sure which version was installed prior to the update, the owner of the site did the update, I just get called when things break.
No, switching the template doesn’t help, I had tried that initially without success.
About the excerpt, we do not have excerpts enabled for her blog, and if there is a separate setting for the calendar, I cannot find it.
Interesting how I’m having this exact same problem with another calendar plugin on another site. Can’t get it fixed either.
What other suggestions do you have?

You’d really need to dig into the theme and look at the point where the page content is rendered – there are some fixes for this with popular themes like Genesis and Canvas (see here) – assuming that is indeed the problem – and they might provide the basis for a solution for your own theme.

Have you reached out to the theme author for help here? They might if nothing else be able to confirm the circumstances under which an excerpt is used and tell you where that piece of code lies.

Yes I did, they told me they gave up on this plugin and have switched to a different one.

That’s a shame, but the important thing of course is you have a solution you’re happy with. Thanks for reporting back and letting us know!
