[resolved] CSS for header logo image map without shifting other blocks (5 posts)

I'm trying to map the upper left logo image to a "home" page link, but every method of including link information I've tried, causes the layout of other header blocks to shift badly. How can I add link/image map to the logo without other elements moving around?

    Change

    <div id="logo"><img src="http://jrosebookkeeping.com/wp-content/themes/jrb/images/img04_logo.png" alt=""/>

    to

    <div id="logo"><a href="http://jrosebookkeeping.com"><img src="http://jrosebookkeeping.com/wp-content/themes/jrb/images/img04_logo.png" alt=""></a>

That information can most likely be found in your header.php file which you can access and edit by visiting the Editor link in the Appearance section in the dashboard.

Thanks! Looks great when using firebug, but layout goes kerflooey when using the live header.php file with the change.... this is the thing I can't seem to figure out... a conflict somewhere, maybe? Here's a screen capture of what happens to layout... http://jrosebookkeeping.com/wp-content/themes/jrb/images/screenshot.png

Odd, never know Firebug to display something any different versus the actual live view.

Might be due to a margin/padding/float issue.

Yeah, have never seen that with Firebug before either... I've even tried positioning a transparent div with a higher z-index on top of the logo... it's fine until I add the link to it & then I get the same exploding layout problem. Could it be the order in which the divs load? (grasping at straws...)
