• Hey, I’d like to start off by saying that Custom Community is absolutely awesome. I’ve been using it for the past few months now (with a major re-skin) and have noticed that after a while, the CSS editor begins to lag severely. I have about 1600 lines of CSS coding (not compressed) in the editor. Any little change I make, no matter how small, causes the editor to lock up for a few seconds before quickly catching up to any changes I made. I’ve searched on google and many people have said that it may be an issue with hardware acceleration, but I only get the problem in the CSS editor while there is a large amount of code in it.

It still saves fine, but it is a bit annoying. I’d like to know if this is a known issue, and/or if anyone has any kind of fix for it.

    Thanks for reading!

    *edit*
If it helps, I’ve tested it on firefox and google chrome on two different computers. All four times, the issue occurred.

  • hi there,

thanks for the detailed feedback, I created an issue at the github tracker.

    see here: https://github.com/Themekraft/Custom-Community/issues/35

    thanks, konrad

I had this too – if you mean the CSS editor in the theme settings. In the end I cut and pasted the whole lot into the child theme style.css in the generic WordPress theme editor (if that’s what you can call it) and never went back to the one in the theme settings. Works fine for me. I hope I’ve made myself clear here…?

hi ste_barrett, there is a new editor installed now!

1.) if it still shows time delay with many lines or any other trouble, please let us know. this tool must work great and easily. we extra added a nice CSS editor 🙂

2.) please never change any theme files – otherwise you won’t stay update safe.

use the CSS editor in the theme settings, or create a child theme…

    hope this helps, konrad
