Cron job fails, manual job works (14 posts)

    Hi,

I have been able to successfully run a backup-job but only manually. When I schedule a cron-job in BackWPup, I find that the job starts, but the console shows no output and stays open infinitely. No files are created and all I can to is to stop the job manually.

I'm able to reproduce this behavior.

Configuration: WordPress 3.4.2 (but now upgraded to WordPress 3.5) with BackWPup 2.1.16, hosted on byethost.

I'm willing to provide admin login to my test-environment but preferably outside of this thread.

Hi there, me too. I have the same versions and the issue begun with the last update to Backwpup to 2.1.16.
Is there any way to get the 2.1.15 version to get rid of this issue while the developer make the fixes?

Here it is, the version 2.1.15 works well and can be downloaded from here:

I also experienced this issue, right after I upgraded to wp 3.5 and backwp up 2.1.16, it says

    BackWPup:
    - WP-Cron isn't working, please check it!

manual and auto back up don't work

mostly it is a problem if you hoster not supports loopback connections to the same host. I try to test thome new integrations with upcoming Version 3.

If I manage a VPS, is this something I can solve by configuring something in PHP? I doubt it, since the plugin worked fine before 2.1.16 and before WP 3.5. They (WP) had changed something relative to the way cURL is being managed.

@Daniel: yes I know, you can read it here:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.5#Under_The_Hood

That was a really huge amount of changes. May something of those changes impact on your plugin functions?

Well, something has changed. The only way I found to make your plugin work is: to install the Core Control plugin and use it to deactivate cURL; otherwise, backwpup inidcates that wp-cron is not working.
May this be a WordPress core bug?
