• Hello all,

I was wondering if it was possible to setup a multisite install with subdirectories within subdirectories. For example, I’d like to setup site “New York” for example, with a site for “City in NY” under that site. Does anyone know if this is possible?

  • can’t you solve that problem by using the menue?

all “subfolders” are next to each other (in 3.5.1) sorted in folders with numbers

if i’m right in older versions in /blogs.dir/ next to each other

and the permalink is not this structure of folders

    Memnosis,

Thanks for your reply but I’m not quite sure I understand your answer. I’ve tried to make this happen through all the MS settings and options, but its not possible from what I can see.

I need to be able to create subsites (url.com/site2) in WordPress multisite, and then create subsites within them (url.com/site2/siteA).

The capability of WordPress right lets you have “sites” on your multisite setup. You have your main site, “/” and subsites “/site2/”, “/site3/”, etc. The subsites are limited to only 1 level.

I would like to be able to create 2 levels of subsites: a sub-site with the URL “/site2/siteA/”, and “siteA” should have its own dashboard, controls, etc.

    Any ideas?

Read the support forum for red flags about the upkeep of this plugin, but it sounds to me like it is intended to do what you are looking for. – infinite networks each with it’s own array of subsites.

    Hi David,

I’ve tried these plugins but they dont seem to work the way I want. From what I can see, they allow you to add many networks, but those networks need to be on different domains. For example, Network 1 needs to be “X.com” and Network 2 needs to be “Y.com”. I would like to make many networks only on “X.com”. I might be wrong about that, but from what I can see that’s what I’ve deduced.

I’ve tried two different multi network plugins and I can create an additional network pretty successfully (X.com/network2, for example) but when I try to assign a site (“siteA”, for example) to “network2” I run into problems.

I want to be able to create many networks with many sites assigned to them all on one domain. I would like to make “X.com/network2/siteA”, “X.com/network2/siteB”, etc. I would like to then be able to make even more networks and subsites to them (“/network3/siteA-Z” , “/network4/siteA-Z/”) of course with different sitenames to avoid same-name conflict.

I *may* have screwed up along the way trying this so I will continue to try and report if it worked or not, but I’ve already tried quite a few times. Any other suggestions? Thanks for the help! Any more info would be useful.
