Creating Page Problem

Greetings and thanks so much for all of the help that I have recieved in the past. WP rocks! http://davidgodden.com

I am creating “pages” such as ‘about’. When I click the ‘about’ page it takes me to http://davidgodden.com/about/ but I get the error message Access Forbiden from the server. When I checked the contents of the subdirectory /about it was nothing there not even the subdirectory! So I created the directory /about and then tried again through edit to reload the static page.

Does not work. Interesting. So the question is, How do I get the page I created into that subdirectory without hand making a file called index.php and placing it there?
