on my site I have regular posts and podcast posts. My feed that wordpress gave me picks up all posts. I would like a rss feed that just picks up the podcasts. Do I need to create a new rss feed? If so, could somone please redirect me to a site that shows me how?

You don't really need to create anything: WP does it for you. You can have separate feeds for every category.
