  • Hi everyone.

I have been working on a site using wordpress & webmatrix.

I didn’t own a domain name for my work because I haven’t even published it. After finishing my project, I will publish.

My problem is that creating the second blog(site).I want to create a second site giving link from main blog to the second.

Can anyone, please, explain what to do in order? It is very complicated for me to understand wordpress.org site to read and understand all content for multisite. I just don’t understand it. Please consider that,my main page is http://localhost:blabla/ … I am using webmatrix. I haven’t published it yet.

Please some help about how to create a second site.

    Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that MOVING Multisite is harder than moving singlesite.

What you want to do IS possible, but it’s complicated, and if just turning on Multisite is too much for you, I would consider hiring someone.

If you only want two sites, then multisite does not help you very much. It is easier to install WordPress separately on each site.

If you really do need to use multisite, and if you plan to publish your sites using WebMatrix, then you need to be sure that WebMatrix supports multisite. You might run into trouble if you create your multisite network on localhost and then discover that WebMatrix cannot publish it on the Internet.

I agree with you that the documentation for multisite is hard to understand. I think this is because information for different requirements is mashed together in a confusing way. If you describe your particular requirements here in more detail, then someone might be able to provide you with more help.

I want to create a second site giving link from main blog to the second.

You can place a link in your menu to any site you want – it does not need to be multisite or a second install or it could even be wordpress.org.

THe part of linking the two together is just… making a link in HTML. Multisite does not do that part for you.
