Creating a sidebar for my blog posts page ( homepage )

    Hi WPMU Dev,
    I would like to set up a custom sidebar for my homepage to which displays a max of 10 posts.

    However I have no idea how I go about getting a custom sidebar showing in such an area.

    My theme is run by Genesis: 2.1.2
    Plugin = Custom sidebar pro version: 2.0.7

    I know it’s not the latest & greatest version as yet, but before I ponder on upgrading I wish to see it doing what I wish of it before I continue to take the plunge.

    I am OK at setting this up for other posts or pages, just having trouble with how to get this on my blog page?

    Hi,
    same problem here. I have the latest version of WordPress 3.9.1 and 2.0.9 version of plug-in. I’ve turned on everything in Sidebar location – For Archives and there is no sidebar on homepage with latest posts.

    Hi Justin, Magda,

    Thanks for posting on the forums.

    Could you please tell me what you have set for the “Front page displays” option on the following path?

    Admin Area -> Settings -> Reading

    If you have set front page as static blog posts page then you can set the Custom Sidebar for that page.

    Please advise.

    Hi, yes great news, I got it working. Not only for the front page but figured out how to get it posting to just my blog page too.
