Creating a page with no sidebar

Ive created a new page template but whatever I enter in this page template doesnt appear in the page when I save it.

my site is a basic page with a side bar… all I want is a page with no-sidebar.. but keeping all the bg colors and theme of the site.

I even tried editing the Links Template but the same happens whatever I enter into the content section doesnt appear on the page!

HELP PLEASE 🙂
