• Hi all,
Is it possible to create a new skin file? I have created a child theme and could, of course, just edit one of the colours, but I;d like to provide an additional one.

So far I’ve added a new file to the inc/css folder (Duplicate of Yellow) to see if it found it in the directory structure. This doesn’t seem to work.

    Thanks

    Jason

Did you add the new file in the parent theme or replicate the structure folder in your Child Theme?

    Hi. Thanks for quick reply.
Initially I added the new file in the parent theme, but nothing appeared in list of skins.

I’ve now also tried recreating in the child theme (By replicating structure) and editing an existing skin css. (I copied the yellow.css from parent to child and made an edit in the child folder). This doesn’t seem to change the skin on the live website. I would guess it is using skin css file from the parent, rather than child.

I haven’t yet edited the css in the parent theme.

I don’t think CSS files can be overridden by replicating the folder structure like the parent theme.

You may need to just dump your skin styles into your Child Theme style.css file.

A couple of old posts might help.
