Creating a new site over a SquareSpace install (2 posts)

Recently, I started a new project for a client who's got a site but it's a SquareSpace site. Which I've never dealt with before. So the first problem is anything you type in the browser with the domain name i.e. yourdomain.com is redirected to SquareSpace. So obviously if you try to go to yourdomain.com/wp-admin, you can't. Because it's now going to another host.

So I figured out to try the IP address and that does work. I can go to the wp-admin and it's there. Login with no issues and i get the dashboard. However, go to the homepage you get a blank white screen. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered something like that and if they've had any similar issues or fixes.

The WP install is in a sub-folder away from anything on the current site so nothing there gets messed up.

I would think that would work okay as long as the wordpress addresses in the dashboard reflected/included the sub-directory in the path.

    /yourdomain.com/name_of_directory/wp-admin

    -not-

    /yourdomain.com/wp-admin

I don't think it will work if you don't include the sub-directory in the addresses.
