Creating a link on an image in a side bar (5 posts)

I’m new to this and this is my first effort at the forums here. Currently I’m using the Twenty Eleven Word Press theme and I added an image widget to my main side bar. The plugin itself is version 3.3.7 by Modern Tribe, Inc. The image I am using in the sidebar is a header from another site and I want to create a link to this image that will connect someone to the other site. But with the image in the widget, it doesn’t have that option to create a link like it would with an image on a normal page. Is there some simple way to get this image to link to another site? Also can this be done with text in the image widget? If this involves work with code, that’ll be out of my range unless it is really, really simple. My site is markmcmillion.com. Thanks so very much for your help. Mark

Why not use a plain text widget in which you can show the site's screenshot and link it from there? It is the simplest.

It's all new to me. I can try that and see if it would work. I have the other site's header as a jpg file, I can look for a plain text widget and see if that works. Thanks

Select a suitable image and try. It is very simple and works certainly.
