    Hi,

I wanted to know if I can have a half static homepage, by that I mean I want the slider to be there but I don't want the posts to be listed below.

Does anyone have an idea about that? Is this possible in "pinboard" theme?

Yes, it's possible. To help you actually do it you should include a link to your site and some info on what theme you're using etc. :)

You have to create a new page with the template as "Landing Page." and hit save. Any page with the template Landing Page will have the slider if you enable it.

Then go to the appearance settings and change it to a static page and point it to the new landing page you created.

how do I get the bottom portion of my home site, which uses the landing page template to not display that empty box just before the footer.

Very helpful! Thanks, buggsahoo and golpar_s. Did you solve problem with the page box/empty box at the bottom?

I created a custom template-landing-page that didn't have the container and that fixed it.
