    I'd likea little red car image to add to my header with part of the car extending over into the background.

    Here's what Id like it to look like:

    The car is a separate, transparent image which I will purchase once I get this figured out.

    Please tell me what I need to add to my stylesheet and where to create this effect.

    Thank you in advance for your help.

    one approach: add the image to your header.php markup as an <img tag, displaying it right-aligned. That gets it to the right edge of the header.

    In you CSS, style that one element as

    position: relative;
    right: -25px;

    That will move the appearance of the image to the right, while underlying this, its actual location within the markup as inside the header is retained.
    Its simpler than it sounds. Play with -25px until your find the value that works for you.
