Hi I have created a new page and I need to create a link to this main page via my nav menu. Is there an easy way to add the link to the nav menu.

You mean a nav menu that is accessed via Administration > Appearance > Menus?
Or is a theme defined menu using the template tag, wp_list_pages()? In that case look at your theme's header.php.
