Ok, so i have set up a static page for my home page (www.techbytesglasgow.co.uk) under my Services page, i wanted sub pages so i could have...

    Services > Console Repairs > PS3 Repairs
    > Wii Repairs
    > DS Repairs

got as far as adding console pages then adding the PS3 sub page to that, went to check it as i always do, and as soon as i typed in my web address it took me straight to (http://www.techbytesglasgow.co.uk/services/console-repairs/)
i have checked everything, even deleted the pages, and it still takes me there with a 404 error now because i deleted the pages.

I could do with some help :(
my WP install, is fully up to date, all of my plug-ins and themes are up to date as well.

If someone has any idea on how to help please do...

    Thanks
    Chris

Do you have the Redirection plugin installed?

i did have indeed, i just disabled it there, and tested - working now! thanks very much!

excellent, has this been a common problem?

I've noticed this quirk on some of my installations as well. You need to disable the "automatically detect changed posts" feature and remove the redirect it added.

ahh i see, so if i change that, it should be safe for me to go back to creating those pages again without breaking anything?

spent a lot of time and effort building my google organic ranking for anything to go wrong with this site :(

In my experience, yes that will fix the problem completely. I didn't write the plugin though, so I can't guarantee anything.
