    I have a website http://www.td-online.net
this site consists of a personal blog and "professional" blog/portfolio. I keep all of my "personal" blogs password protected.. is thee away to make these posts not appear on the main page? And people can access it by a single password protected page on http://www.td-online.net/private or somethign? or would i have to install wordpresss in a nother directory call /blog or somethign?

If they're all in one (or even several) specific categories (which don't also have posts on the "professional" side), you can exclude those cats from appearing on the main page. Start here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_category

Personally, just thinking about the whole thing, I would prefer if this were me to install a second instance of wp in a second folder - you can use the same database, just give the new install a different prefix in the wp-config.php file.
