create new network with preexisting network install (2 posts)

So, I run a test for everything, including a new 3.0 network at our site. A little background:
We had 25 blogs in subdirectories, e.g. example.com/wp100

I took one of those blogs to test out the 3.0 network. Once I was in and playing around with the features, I realized that I need to have a new blog that was in the root directory (@ example.com) so that the new blogs would be in a similar location as the old blogs, in a subdirectory.

I installed a new blog in the root directory, and now, because I installed my test network under example.com/wp100, the new network is not creating pages correctly. It keeps pointing me to an error page at the example.com/wp100 blog. I removed all the example.com/wp100 files from my server and now it just gives me a 500 internal server error.

I looked around and found a one line post saying to empty/delete the database tables. Is that what I need to do to remove the first network? And how do I do that?

    Thanks a ton in advance.

  2. Are you doing all these installs in one database?
