Create, change category slugs (5 posts)

I created a category cars and trucks and decided I want the category slug to just be "cars." I can't find any way to modify any category slugs. I remember being able to set the category slug at some point. I don't know why it cannot be modified. This is especially important since I am considering placing the slug in the URLs going forward.

'admin' 'posts' 'categories' hover over the category name and click 'edit' - change the slug name, and 'update'

I don't have any ability to change the slug name. I click 'edit' and I have:

    Name: (name entered)
    Parent: (dropdown)
    Description: (if entered)

There is no field to edit the slug name. That is the problem.

Hi thelaw are you using 'Multisite' because I seem to have the same issue too and I checked my other site not using Multisite its there.

Dunno if its to prevent conflicts??

    Hi,

We are running WPMU (a.k.a. Multisite) 2.8.5.2 and have the same problem. When I'm in Admin/Posts/Categories, and click on a category to edit, I only see the following:

    Category Name
    Category Parent
    Description

It's not a terrible inconvenience for us, and nothing is broken, but it would be very beneficial to be able to change the slug.

I don't understand why this feature is not offered for MU...
