• I have found all kinds of support on thumbnails for posts, but nothing for pages. Basically, I want one image on the home page. When I post a link to facebook (or elsewhere) where it gives you the option of selecting an image as the thumbnail, I want the image I’ve put on the home page to be a choice. Right now, the only choices are the “loading picture” image from NexGen Plugin and the default header image that came with the theme I’m using (wappos). Can someone take a look and help me out? http://www.memoryboxhut.com

  • The Wappos Theme doesn’t appear to support Post Thumbnails in Pages.

You need to add a call to the_post_thumbnail() in your page.php template file, in order to display Post Thumbnails in Pages.

By the way, when you say, “When I post a link to facebook (or elsewhere) where it gives you the option of selecting an image as the thumbnail,” where is the “it” that is giving you the option of selecting an image as the thumbnail? Are you referring to the Media Manager?

“it” is Facebook itself. When you attach a link to a status, Facebook looks for images to include as a thumbnail for your post. (I have no idea how it determines what could be a thumbnail and what can’t.)

As far as the thumbnail in the pages, I am just inserting the picture into the page itself. I guess I don’t need actual thumbnails. I’m not using it to blog, and I don’t have any posts, nor do I anticipate actually ever having posts.

That sounds more like a Facebook support question than a WordPress Theme question…

Is there a WordPress-Facebook forum somewhere that I missed? I know that there’s something in the theme’s code somewhere since the default Wappos header is a choice even though it doesn’t appear (visually) on my page anywhere. I just don’t know how to find that image and replace it with my own.
