create a split menu around header logo in twenty twelve

Hello. I have the twenty twelve theme and am currently working on the general page layout in a child theme, so please forgive the ugly.

I am trying to figure out the best way to split the menu around my logo. I currently have it split, but if I change from Safari to Firefox it displays differently (not in line) and when I make my screen size smaller, the menu starts to blend together with itself and the logo image. Is there css to make it possible to make the nav menu and the logo all move together so that it doesn’t overlap and also to make it display the same across all platforms?
