Crashes Site (2 posts)

    Hi,

Once the plugin has been installed, the site becomes incredibly slow and crashes. A few weeks ago when it was installed, it took the site down for 2 whole days. Once we figured out it was the plugin causing the issue, we had to remove it via FTP and that fixed the site.

I was wondering why this happens? The refresh rate on it was to update every 5 minutes. We even set it to 10 minutes or 20 minutes and it would still make the site incredibly slow/not load and crash.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This is the error it shows in the sidebar:

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Operation timed out after 10001 milliseconds with 0 bytes received

    Thank you.

@Riesgraf - What is the specific SMF Forum RSS feed you are trying to display? Essentially the plugin is designed to create the RSS URL and then display that feed using the SimplePie functionality from WordPress core.

There may be something in how you configured the plugin as well, so a screen capture of those settings may also be useful.

    Thanks!

    - Cais.
