WP-OpenID Plugin – Couple errors

I get it even without that tick in that box. After adding an Identity URL and going through the palaver… and going back to my blog, I still get “There are no OpenIDs associated with this WordPress user.”
The login is – to say the least – completely nuts.
If my username/pw for my blog are in there, as well as my openid url – then it kicks me to my openid provider, makes me fill everything out… and kicks me back to the login screen.
I actively have to take the openid url OUT and log in manually, if I want to get to my dashboard.
Urgh.
Can this be simplified?
I don’t want to piss my users off.
