   I'm fairly new to WordPress and have only really tinkered with PHP before, but I'm helping a friend out with a WordPress site and he wants in use the <–nextpage–> tag in his template to break up post content.

   Is there any way of counting the number of characters in the loop, and then getting it to auto insert the <–nextpage–> automatically... that would be fantastic!

   I'd love to help this guy out, but I'm just not good enough on WordPress/PHP to do this - please help, it will make his day (and website!!!).

   to do this right, you'd want to insert the page break after the next </p> tag, following your character/word limit.

   Look for an excerpt plugin and/or a pagination plugin.
