   Hi,

   Last night I couldn't login to my WP site or here from my home PC or mac. Password resets didn't work either.

   I didn't get the usual error that my password was incorrect on my site, with the shaking login box that you'd expect, it simply wouldn't let me access /wp-admin/
   It was as if stuck in a loop that would only load the login page, I even tried to load an MD5 hash straight into the DB & tried a script someone had written (emergency.php) to reset the password.

   I've just been able to reset and login to both sites from work.
   I'd usually consider myself pretty good with tech as a programmer, but this has just got me confused.

   Any ideas guys?

   did you try

   - switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme's folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

   - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

   - re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress?

   - clear your Browsers cookies and Cache
