    Hi!

Just make sure your favicon is named favicon.ico and upload it to your public_html, or root of your blog directory and leave it like that. You should notice it working after some time. If it isn't working the next day, clear your cache.

Since your icon is not currently a favicon.ico, you can generate one using a site such as http://tools.dynamicdrive.com/favicon/

This is the catch: I have the file - favicon.ico but I don'y know anything about this public_html you are talking about. I have wordpress 2.7 and I would like to know where the public_html thing is.

public_html is a folder on your hosting server. What kind of hosting account do you have, how did you install wordpress? Your favicon.ico should be uploaded to the server into the same folder that contains your website files.

No. If you have your own website, file management (uploading and downloading files) is something you'll definitely need to learn, otherwise I'd stick with something like wordpress.com. See:

Contact your web host about how to use FTP and/or cPanel with your site.
