'Could not copy file' when installing new theme (3 posts)

I'm trying to install a new theme on one of my WP blogs. Here are the messages I'm getting from WP after clicking the Install button (FYI, in place of the domain name where my blog is, I've inserted "mydomainname" below):

    Downloading install package from http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/download/vigilance.1.46.zip.

    Unpacking the package.

    Could not copy file /public_html/mydomainname/wp-content/upgrade/vigilance.tmp/vigilance/header-banner.php

I would appreciate any advice you can offer.

Its a permissions problem. You either have to change the permissions on your wp-content folder or upload via FTP.

Thank you so much for your response. I think I'll try the FTP upload option first.
