   Please help ...

   After installing WP v2.6, I got this problem of core files being dumped into my website. Everyday, I have to manually delete 24 core files and each file is 78MB.

   I filed a support ticket with my host, and for several days, they diagnosed this problem. Their final analysis:

   We have checked the settings of our server, everything should be working fine.

   Core files - are the result of the incorrect work of php scripts.
   If you are the developer of these scripts, please check how they work.
   If you are not - please update these scripts to the latest release, but if it doesn't resolve your issue, please contact these scripts` developers.

   Any assistance will be gratuitously appreciated.

   WHat version of PHP is your host running?

   The PHP version is 4.4.8

   I'm having the same problem and I'm on WP 2.5.1 still. (haven't upgraded because some of plugins I use won't may not work on 2.6 yet)

   Anyway, I only noticed these core.#### files started appearing yesterday - any idea what causes this and if they are safe to delete?

   I had aList plugin installed, it was working fine until yesterday as well - it started giving memory problems, I've had to disable it till I find out what the problem is. I wonder if these two things are related?!
