Core Editing Functions are not Working??? (4 posts)

I cannot access any editor pages from my dashboard ...

I can't access updates, posts, pages, widgets, menus, etc... I can't access anything other than my theme admin (RT 12 Theme) and my media library.

Now here is the interesting thing. After freaking out, I noticed when navigating through the site (logged in) that a click on "edit post / page" of the global wordpress admin bar allows me to get to that particular page to edit it.

This is good news right? It means my database/privileges/tools aren't as corrupt as I first thought right?

Somebody please advise me on this, I am very scared to begin doing partial installs. I am concerned about a backup and re-import as this theme uses many widgetized post style items, I don't know how they will convert back in (it may just see them as regular posts and not "homage contents" for example.

Thanks in advance, I totally lost!

    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Hi apologies the author of my theme is completely unhelpful!

The strangest thing is happening, now I can no longer access the themes page to switch my theme? It seems like this bug is growing whatever it is.

My question is I want to reinstall the theme but I am concerned about these themes particular widgets and content boxes being lost. There is a lot of detail that cannot be lost.

Where does wordpress store the posts, pages, and other content? It has to be in wp-content right?

I can't find it, I just want to make sure that by removing the folder and reinstalling the native theme I won't lose any data. Is there a standard process to follow for this kind of thing?

thanks so much for your help!!

    Mike
