Cordoba background repeat issues

I’m using WordPress 2.2 and the Cordoba Theme.
The background images on the left and right are supposed to repeat y. If you click around on the site for a while, though, you will see that almost never do both of them extend all the way down to the bottom of the page. Sometimes it’s one side, sometimes the other. One bg is in the html tag and the other in the body tag. I poked around and found a suggestion to add a height 100% attribute for both of these tags… but it didn’t help.
If anyone wants to weigh in on why the content box seems to change widths and have little jut outs at various times on the right-hand side… that would be much appreciated as well.
