   Hi,

   I have a couple of, erm, legalistic queries with regard to plugin developer and, particularly, what I can do within the GPL licence.

   First of all, am I okay to add discreet advertising to plugin admin screens (a banner at the bottom of an options screen, for instance)?

   Secondly, if I find a piece of code within somebody elses plugin that I think, extracted, would make a good standalone plugin where do I stand with regard to doing this? Does the GPL allow me to do this, assuming I acknowledge where it came from?

   From what I understand, unless the plugin author specifically writes somewhere in the files included with the plugin that it is NOT okay to do this, you are free to do anything you want with the plugin (as long as it's not written somewhere in the files included that you can't).

   I could be wrong, but I've seen instances where plugin authors were talking about their plugins being sold with themes and how it wasn't against GPL. (They weren't too thrilled with it either, but there wasn't anything exactly wrong going on.)
