[resolved] Cookie notification bar not showing (3 posts)

    Hello,

    I really like the look and simplicity of the UK Cookie Consent plugin and have installed it at http://www.mlhs.co.uk but cannot get it to work. It appears to have installed correctly, has been succesfully activated, and the Cookie Consent details on the Settings page have been edited and manually saved.

    However, the notification bar will not appear, regardless of which browser I use. The site is using WP 3.8.1 running the Veles theme and I've checked to make sure that the theme footer contains wp_footer() as per the FAQs.

    Just to clarify, when I go to Appearance > Editor > Footer I can see the wp_footer() entry as per below:

    <div class="clear"></div>
    <div class="sitemap">Sitemap</div>
    </div>
    <?php wp_footer(); ?>
    <!--End Footer-->

    However, its not visible when I view the source of the public facing web page. I'm not a coder so don't know whether this is normal behaviour?

    Many thanks in advance for any suggestions
    Peter

    Hi - I can see a couple of JavaScript errors there which might be preventing the plugin from displaying.

    Many thanks for the heads-up about the existing JS errors. I tracked them down to redundant entries in header.php and once I'd removed them your plugin immediately started working.

    Thanks again, not only for the advice but a really simple and clear plugin that does exactly what it sets out to do.
