Cookie free vs Expires header?

    Hi!

    Long story short. I would like to know what you think makes the most site speed improvement, to serve components from a cookie-free domain, or to serve components with “expires header”?

    I have to choose since my web-host offers this unusual configuration.

    More info;
    The main domain is running on Apache 2.x PHP 5.x (cookies)
    The subdomain is running on Autobahn (no expiration)

    Thanks for any input in this matter!
