[resolved] converting mysql to wordpress friendly format (csv?) (3 posts)

So, there's a site currently set up with around 56,000 posts submitted by the public. It's not run on wordpress and is in desperate need of a redesign!

I've been asked to do the redesign and import all 56,000 posts. The posts are in a mysql database that I can easily grab. Any ideas as to how I could make it wordpress friendly? It would be great to think that I could convert to a csv and BAM, it's done! I know that this isn't possible, I'm just looking for a way to make it a real easy import.

Any ideas would be kindly accepted.

    Thanks.

You'll need to make your data fit into WordPress' post structure, then you can use wp_insert_post() to insert them through a PHP script.

Thanks for this! How would I go about making the data fit into WordPress' post structure? Any tips would be very much appreciated. If it comes to it, I may need to outsource this work. Thanks again.
